Ore Oduba says he started having flashbacks when he slipped into women’s lingerie for his new role in The Rocky Horror Show.
The Strictly Come Dancing winner is starring as Brad in the iconic musical for a run in the West End and a major UK tour.
And preparing for his role in the hit show – penned by Richard O’Brien – brought back long-forgotten memories of a drag performance during his school days.
During an exclusive chat with the Mirror, the TV presenter, 35, confessed he was completely comfortable wearing knickers, stockings and suspenders in the show.
He said: “I can’t tell you how comfortable I am – and I didn’t know I would be.
“But I’ll be honest with you, this wasn’t my first rodeo.
“This is so random, but I remember when I first started secondary school, I was 13 going on 14 and there was a Christmas party at school, there were kids from my age up to 18 and all these adult staff.
“I remember asking my house master if it would be okay for me to do a performance at the Christmas party and blindly, him not knowing what I was asking, said sure.”
And Ore, who spends the majority of The Rocky Horror Show in his underwear, said his teachers could never have imagined what he had planned.
He went on: “I decided I would create a one-man show based on me dressed as Victoria Beckham and perform her single Out Of Your Mind featuring Dane Bowers.
“I was dressed in my sister’s platform heels, a tank top, a bandana – it was 1999 – I was wearing shades and I was performing as Victoria Beckham.
“If only there was a video – they missed a moment.
“The audacity of this teenager! It was my first term and there were 18 year old boys in this room and I was just like ‘Yeah I’m gonna cross dress, I’m gonna dress like Victoria Beckham and see how that goes down’.
“And that memory has only come back to me since starting the show, it was like I put the heels on and had a flashback.”
Ore also opened up about the sex scenes he has to perform in the show with main character Frank N. Furter.
“It’s the best part of the night,” he said.
“It’s a part of the show that everyone looks forward to, for anyone who hasn’t seen it there’s a big surprise in a moment with Brad and Frank N. Furter.
“I remember getting the script and starting to learn it, and I always got to the bedroom scene and thought, ‘How am I going to approach that? Where will my leg go?’
“I built it up in my head so I was already feeling awkward, but really, I’ve never been more comfortable with another man in bed.”
Ore, who won Strictly in 2016 and is appearing in the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which starts tonight at 9pm on Channel 4, is expecting his second child with wife Portia.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, are already parents to three-year-old Roman, who can’t wait to be a big brother.
Ore told us: “Portia’s doing great. I think the difference this time is we now have a three year old taking all the energy she has left so she feels doubly pooped but she’s doing really well.

“She looks more beautiful than ever and I keep telling her that even though she doesn’t listen to a word I say.
“Roman’s really excited about it. I keep catching moments where he’s hugging her bump and it’s so beautiful.
“He always wants to say goodnight to the baby every night, but the only thing is he’s not sure if he wants a brother or a sister.”
