The Scottish actor, 36, took to social media on Sunday ahead of the airing of Line of Duty’s sixth series finale and shared three sweet snaps of himself posing with series creator Jed Mercurio and co-stars Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar, respectively.
The snap with Adrian, who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings on the show, also sees Martin give his on-screen boss a kiss on the cheek.
Martin, who plays DI Steve Arnott on the show, penned alongside the snaps: “Been a wild few weeks and mental 10years with the most amazing cast & crews.
“None more so than the 3 below who I’d be lost without.
“A job of a lifetime only made possible by the fans tuning in series after series, for that I can’t thank you all enough.”
Finally, he teased fans of the show with a trademark misspelling associated with the mysterious corrupt police officer known as ‘H’, writing: “Answers coming? Definately”.
The message followed an earlier post by creator Jed Mercurio who had penned: “Working with @Vicky_McClure@martin_compston#AdrianDunbar has been the highlight of my career.
Even earlier in the day, actress Vicky McClure, who plays DI Kate Fleming in the series, shared a flurry of on-set snaps and also paid tribute to the show in a lengthy post on social media.
In the message, Vicky had penned: ” @mrmartincompston & Adrian I love you‘s 29!”
The final episode looks set to answer somevery big questions surrounding the identity of the mysterious corrupt police office ‘H’, the actions of DCI Joanne Davidson ( Kelly Macdonald ), and the fate of AC-12 itself.
The BBC official synopsis for the final episode reads: “With time running out, AC-12 attempt to unmask ‘H’, the Fourth Man (or Woman) commanding the network of corrupt officers behind the murder of Gail Vella. But sinister and powerful forces appear intent on orchestrating a cover-up.”
