Lisa Riley has come to terms with not having children after her IVF heartbreak.
In a new heartbreaking interview, she said her fiancé Al told her he “lost the girl he fell in love with” when they tried IVF.
It’s been around three years since the pair underwent IVF in 2018.
The couple decided not to go through the heartbreak again and instead they have found solace in their beautiful life together.
Emmerdale’s Lisa, 44, admitted she was “so lucky” and felt blessed to have such a wonderful life.
She told Closer magazine : “Al would never want me to go through IVF again because he said he lost the girl he fell in love with.
“I am so blessed with my wonderful nephews and nieces and godchildren and we have taken full ownership of our life. I may not have 2.4 kids and a dog but I have a beautiful b****y life. I wouldn’t change it for the world, I’m so lucky.”
Lisa was able to bring some of her heartbreak to the small screen in the stilettos of her character Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale.
Her character Mandy revealed all about a historic miscarriage she had suffered in a huge storyline last year.
The Emmerdale star, who had returned to the soap in 2019 after an 18-month break, said her heart has broken over the overwhelming response she’s had from women with their own stories.
She added: “I have had such an incredible response from women. It would break your heart and I try to personally reply to each and everyone who has contacted me.”
Lisa has played the role of Mandy since 1995 and she’s well recognised for her part on the soap.
But her partner Al very much keeps out of the limelight.
Lisa decided to keep her romance quite private and she’s previously said she wanted to keep Al all to herself.
Speaking in the past about why she kept Al a mystery, Lisa said: “Everyone deserves a somebody, and I’ve had so many rubbish somebodies that I want to keep this one for me. He’s mine.”
